The Bar Harbor Town Band was established in 1898, and performs free concerts in the Village Green during the summer months. In case of rain, the concerts will be held at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church, located at 26 Mt. Desert Street, next to the Village Green. Concerts are free and open to the public. Bring sketchbooks or a nature journal to practice drawing inside the George B. Dorr Natural History Museum. There are living tidepool creatures, dioramas featuring local animals in action, skeletons, and plants. Drawing is a powerful way to fully see and understand the details of the natural world. Museum staff will be available to assist participants on their self-guided efforts, and has paper and drawing materials available for those who don’t have their own. Bird Walk

Join COA alumnus, biologist Greg Smith, for a 45-minute to one-hour walk around the COA campus for both common and uncommon birds. A walk out to the pier may allow views of loons, ducks, gulls, and other seabirds. Do dress for the weather and bring a pair of binoculars if you have them. Call regarding weather. George B. Fancy Basket Workshop with Molly Neptune Parker, Passamaquoddy

Molly Neptune Parker, Passamaquoddy, is an
award-winning basket maker and experienced teacher. Participants will learn to process the some materials needed to make an ash and sweet grass fancy basket, use a mold to weave a basket with a lid, and use colored ash to make decorative curls on their baskets. Participants will leave with a beautiful basket of their own creation, and memories to last a lifetime! Please call the Abbe Museum to register. Abbe Museum Downtown, 26 Mt.
